Hi my name is Mark Perkins from Olympia, Washington and my vehicle is a 2002 Dodge Dakota QuadCab 4x4 named Stomper. This Dodge is powered by the 4.7L Magnum V8.
Stomper has 3" Rancho Suspension Lift, 3" Performance Accessories Body Lift and 33x12.50 BF Goodrich All Terrain tires on 15x8 Ultra 164 polished wheels.
A few unique items on my truck are the custom work to the Shaker Hood and the MBRP Cuda Style Rollpan in the rear. First off, after ordering the hood I realized that with the body lift the Shaker scoop would sit 3" too low inside the the engine compartment and not stick out of the hood like intended. We designed a 3" body lift for the upper portion of the scoop. We milled two 1.5" blocks out of high temp plastic which were glued together and placed between the top and bottom portions of the shaker scoop. The K&N filter element sits in the lower half of the shaker scoop.
The MBRP Cuda Style Rollpan was another challenge. After removing the rear bumper, hitch, and spare tire carrier, I aligned the Rollpan up to the rear end and found out that because of the 3" body lift the frame was right at the point where the exhaust tips would exit the rollpan. The frame endcap was cut and the frame was cut back to allow the exhaust to pass through the frame and the tips to exit through the rollpan.
There are a ton of other modification I've done to the truck to dress it up over the 2 years I've owned it. Here are a few other pictures that you might want to include in this article.
I mostly go 4wheelin on the beaches of the Pacific Ocean in Washington State, they range anywhere from soft sand dunes to hard wet sand as you get closer to the water.
April 1 - 3 2005 I entered Stomper in "Mopars At The Strip" in Las Vegas and took first place in the Dakota class.
I do like to show off the work that I've done to my truck so that other people may realize that with a few simple modifications almost anything can be accomplished.
