My Nissan Patrol is a 1995 4.2L SGL S/W. I have done a few modifications to the suspension namely increasing the ride height adding longer coils and shocks and fitting MAXXIS Bighorn MudTerain tyres.
The lift entailed raising the suspension by 100mm and adding KONI shocks to the front and TJM long reach to the back.
The tyres are 33x12.5xR15 which added some more hight to the car. The total ride hight is now 137mm.
Inside we have a vhf radio, national luna fridge and all the odds and ends that you normally need when offroading.

Check your carbs NEW

Freddy. I experienced the same problem and after doing exactly what you did with no joy we did the following.
Firstly I removed the carburetor and had that overhauled. Then the whole mechanical pints system was removed and converted to electronic.
I used to get approximately 6 to 7 km/l with the big wheels and all the bits added. After changing everything it increased to 8.5 to 9 km/l of fuel.
There is no reason why it should just suddenly use more fuel but the carburetor plays a massive role especially when all the little parts are worn and the whole air/ fuel ratio is out of sync.

I own the 1995 model Nissan Patrol 4.2L SGL. It used to work very well until recently. Now it consumes lot of fuel. I have the air filter and oil changed to fix the problem but they have not helped.

Even Better NEW

The Patrol is really a very capable vehicle. After much thought and some serious 4x4 ing I decided that another lift and a whole new suspension would be in order.
So after much deliberation and some serious saving I bought the " Old man Emu" kit that gave me a complete lift of 220mm.
It radically changed the handling on the tarred roads but WOW!!! this monster could now just drive over most obstacles. Most guys and girls would say that the overall lift was to mush but you actually get used to the drive and the effect it has on a slow little car in front of you. The expression of horror when this thing pulls up behind them is priceless.

The 1995 Nissan Patrol 42 liter truck that is shared here on the webpage is really massive. I am a fan of these massive sports utility trucks and this website has helped me a lot to have a good idea about these trucks.
